Villa Ceconi is located in the center of Gorizia, close to the Slovenian border, in a quiet but not remote position, close to other villas. Once owned to Lodovico Salvatore cousin of the Duchess Elisabeth in Bavaria, nicknamed Sissi, who often visited him together with her husband the Emperor Franz Joseph. The property features Venetian terrazzo floorings, high decorated ceilings, a private chapel, a large hall of 400 sqm, and it is surrounded by greenery in a 15,000 sqm park. Even if structurally in good condition it needs some renovation works.
It is a splendid refuge for those seeking tranquility in a charming context.
The Villa is spread over a 3.200 sqm area with a large hall of approx. 400 sqm, wide rooms, four groups of multiple bathrooms, as per its previous use as school and then offices,
a private chapel, stables and three large terraces.
Gorizia is situated on a plain at the foot of the Julian Alps which border Slovenia. Gorizia means ‘little hill’ and comes from the Slovene word ‘gorica’. The town is completely sheltered from the north by mountains and unlike other towns in the area is also protected from the vicious Bora wind. Consequently it has its own microclimate and enjoys mild Mediterranean conditions throughout the year which makes it a popular resort. The town and surrounding area is renowned for the production of the outstanding Collio Goriziano wine.
