Santa Croce

A relatively non-touristy area lying just west of the Rialto area and setting of one of Venice’s most neighbourly squares, Campo San Giacomo Dell’Orio – a pretty area with a strong community spirit and a sprinkling of trees, benches and well-regarded restaurants. Also home to the Baroque Ca’ Pesaro (International Gallery of Modern Art), Palazzo Mocenigo (museum of fabrics, costumes and perfumes) at San Stae and Venice’s Natural History Museum at the Fondaco Dei Turchi on the banks of the Grand Canal.
